This versatile unit can sit on the cabinet floor or be  mounted on the cabinet wall with a bracket.  The system uses its own designer faucet which is installed directly on your sink, requiring little space. It may be connected to an icemaker using an icemaker tee, and it may be converted to a countertop unit with the purchase of a conversion kit. Filter life/capacity is approximately 750 gallons.

How the Filter Works

Multi-Pure's Drinking Water Systems replaceable triple-action filter has been formulated using materials that will provide the highest quality drinking water without removing the healthful, natural minerals. Multi-Pure's carbon block filters combine mechanical filtration, electrokinetic adsorption, and physical adsorption to provide the most effective contaminant reduction possible.

Mechanical Filtration: The filtration process begins with water passing through a graded density 5-micron pre-filter that traps dirt, sand, and particles that affect the taste, odor, and overall appearance of your water. Then the water passes through the highly compacted solid carbon block where direct mechanical interception of particles as small as 0.5 micron occurs. Asbestos, cysts, and turbidity are reduced through mechanical filtration at the sub-micron level.

Electrokinetic Adsorption: The graded density prefilter acquires a positive molecular charge as water passes through it. Since most colloidal contaminants exhibit a negative charge in solution, the media fibers will electrokinetically attract charged colloidal particles too small for removal by mechanical straining.

Physical Adsorption: Multi-Pure’s highly compacted carbon block filter media is a blend of selected activated carbons and other materials that reduce aesthetic contaminants and health-related contaminants. Many carbons are selected with a high surface area and high retentivity characteristics. The materials are formed into a carbon block, which is densely compacted to provide longer contact time and outstanding performance that cannot be achieved with other filtration technologies. Multi-Pure’s carbon block filter effectively adsorbs contaminants with health significance, including chlordane, lead, mercury, MTBE, PCBs, Toxaphene, and VOCs, plus aesthetic contaminants such as chlorine and chloramine.

The carbon block filter is engineered so that contaminants removed by mechanical filtration will cause the flow rate to decrease, and the filter will clog. It is recommended that the filter be replaced when the first of the following occurs: (a) annually; (b) the unit's rated capacity is reached; (c) the flow rate diminishes; (d) the filter becomes saturated with bad tastes and odors.

Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems are made of Food and Drug Administration approved materials. Multi-Pure Systems are designed to be used on treated water systems; they are not intended to be used where the water is microbiologically unsafe or with water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the unit. The System may be used for cyst reduction on disinfected waters that may contain filterable cysts. Multi-Pure warrants its System housings to be free of defects in material and workmanship for use under normal care for a period of: STAINLESS STEEL housing -lifetime; PLASTIC housing - lifetime. Multi-Pure filters (cartridges) are warranted for defects in material and workmanship for use under normal care. For optimum performance, filter cartridges require periodic replacement dependent upon use, type, and level of contaminants in local water (up to 750 gallons of drinking water; up to 1200 gallons with capacity meter); therefore, it is recommended that filters be replaced annually or sooner if needed.

Solid Carbon Block Water Systems.

We use a solid carbon block filter that is considered to be the most effective method for reducing a wide range of contaminants of health concern, which may be present in the water. The carbon is compacted into a dense structure, causing every molecule of water to be forced through microscopic pores of carbon, effectively reducing pollutants. The Solid Carbon Block Filter is a replaceable cartridge designed so that it can be easily changed. Some additional advantages of the Solid Carbon Block Filter are that it does not waste water, there is no electricity required, it does not remove essential trace minerals that are beneficial to good health, it does not add salt or silver to the water; and it provides fresh, delicious, healthy drinking water.
