Water testing instruments TDS meter. TDS Meters and Electrolysis.
TDS Meters and Electrolysis does not tell you the whole truth. They can measure TDS or Total Dissolved Solids in the water but they can NOT measure or test for chemicals.
Try this out:
Materials needed: TDS meter, glass of water.
- Put the meter in the water and read the TDS value. Take a note of the reading.
- Add a drop or two of gasoline to the water. Or you can add a teaspoon, tablespoon or any amount that you like.
- Put the meter again and read the TDS value again. As you notice the water with gasoline and without gasoline read the SAME. Incredible isn’t it?
- Would you drink a glass of water with or with NO gasoline because the meter reads the same? You know the answer!
TDS Meters
Not what you think.

What do you think will happen if you put a teaspoon of gasoline in the water?
The TDS will read more, less or stay the same?
TDS Meter does not read chemicals (like gasoline) in the water. It just reads TDS (Total Dissolved Solids, like sodium, potassium, etc) Things that a Gatorade has.
What do you think will be the reading in a glass of Gatorade?
(Gatorade is an awesome sport drink.)

Google Electrolytes, you will be surprised.
What are electrolytes?
Chemically, electrolytes are substances that become ions in solution and acquire the capacity to conduct electricity. Electrolytes are present in the human body, and the balance of the electrolytes in our bodies is essential for normal function of our cells and our organs.
Common electrolytes that are measured by doctors with blood testing include sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate.
What to do?
The best way to know the quality of the water you are drinking is to have a water system certified by NSF. Another good idea is to look for the one that reduces or removes the most contaminants from the water.
You can see a water filter certified by NSF that reduces 5 contaminants, another reduces 15, another reduces more. The most logical thing to do is to look for the system that reduces the most contaminants.
We have solid carbon block water filters that are certified by NSF for the widest reduction of contaminants and we also have reverse osmosis systems (RO systems) that also reduces TDS (Total Dissolved Solids).
The best choice right now is to have a Multi-Pure water filter:
- The widest reduction of contaminants
- The best warranty –lifetime warranty-
- 90 days money back guaranteed
- The best price.
